2015 Palm Springs Modernism Week: Don’t Miss These Events!

2015 marks the 10th anniversary for Modernism Week in Palm Springs, California. This celebration of Mid-Century architecture and design kicks off tomorrow, February 12th and runs through Saturday, February 22nd. Design lovers from all over the world gather to attend both free and paid events throughout the week. Here is our guide to the 5 best events throughout the week!

10th Anniversary Opening Night Party: Modernism Eclectic Dance Blast with KCRW’s Jason Bentley
This is a paid event, but worth every penny! Taking place at the new Modernism Week Headquarters at CAMP (Community and Meeting Place) in the Uptown Design District, this event celebrates the Mid-Century theme and encourages attendees to dress in their best “Throwback Thursday” 50’s and 60’s attire. Admission price includes open bar, hors d’oeuvres, dancing and a 5-day wristband for return admission to MW CAMP. Purchase tickets here.

Opening Night After-Party at Bootlegger Tiki
Visiting Modernism Week on a budget? Stop by the recently opened Bootlegger Tiki for a FREE after-party in the original Don The Beachcomber location. Enjoy hand-crafted cocktails at the bar and rest easy knowing a portion of your bar tab will be donated to Modernism Week, which is actually a non-profit benefitting scholarships to students and grants for architectural preservation in Palm Springs. This event requires no RSVP and will be taking place from 8pm-2am at the Bootlegger Tiki. Don’t miss it!

Double Decker Architectural Bus Tour
Hurry and get your tickets while you still can! This tour is $85 and takes you throughout Palm Springs to visit the exteriors of the area’s finest architecture.
