The Premier Site For Purchasing Affordable Art
From World Renowned To Emerging Photographers

Westlake Village, CA – July 7th, 2010 – PurePhoto, the photography network that helps people perfect and publish their images, today announced the launch of PurePhoto Collections™, the premier site for purchasing selected works from industry-leading to emerging artists from around the globe.

In addition to using PurePhoto to learn, organize, share and print, photographers can now sell their work using the platform. Members submit images for review by a selection committee and, if chosen, are sold as either Fine Art, Limited Editions, or in Member Galleries. Prices range from $20 – $5,000 depending on the significance of the art, the number of editions, and the size of the print. Proceeds of the sale are split between the artist and PurePhoto. There are already hundreds of images for sale with more being added every week.

“Many photographers currently sell their art on their portfolio site, in galleries or through massive stock houses, which makes it challenging for buyers to discover new high-quality work,” said John Ellis, CEO of PurePhoto. “PurePhoto brings a new audience to photographers and makes it easy for buyers to find amazing and affordable art from around the world.”

“I represent some of the top artists in Spain,” said art dealer and PhotoGallery20 owner Javier Gimeno, “PurePhoto is enabling me to expose the U.S. market to the great works of Spanish photographers and even discover other potential artists I may want to represent.”

Photographers wishing to learn more or submit work for consideration may do so at purephoto.com/sell or by joining PurePhoto at purephoto.com/join.

PurePhoto will soon be publicly announcing it’s ecommerce art site, PurePhoto Collections. You can submit your work and any approved images will be showcased and available for purchase on www.purephotocollections.com.

PurePhoto Collections is the premier art site for people who want to buy and sell great photography. Whether you’re an established artist or an undiscovered enthusiast with a great eye, PurePhoto Collections is for you. You can sell your images as either Fine Art, Limited Editions or generally in Member Galleries. You keep 50% of all net sales and PurePhoto handles all production and logistics.

Collections are defined as:

Fine Art: Internationally recognized photographers with a history of gallery exhibits, awards, or publications are generally showcased in the Fine Art collection. Every print is signed by the artist. Prices typically range from $1,000 – $5,000.

Limited Editions: Photographers are hand-selected for the quality of their work. Every print is delivered with a numbered certificate of authenticity that is signed by the artist and includes the artist’s bio and image description. Prices range from $20 to $1,000.

Member Galleries: Browse and buy art from other PurePhoto members who have a passion for photography. Prices vary but most range from $10 to $100.

You can submit work to exhibit in any or all of the collections. Selling out a single image as a Limited Edition print, for instance, can make over $10,000!  This is a great opportunity to generate extra income from your beautiful images.

Frequently Asked Questions:

1) How does it work?

Step 1 When logged into your PurePhoto account, create a new gallery called “Collections” in your Organize folder. Drag and drop images from your library or upload new images you wish to sell into the Collections gallery.
Step 2 Once you are ready to submit photos, simply let us know by emailing us at collections@purephoto.com. In your email, please include the email address you are using for logging in your PurePhoto account as we will use it to identify your account and for correspondence.
Step 3 We will review your submissions and any approved images will be re-organized into new galleries in the Collections folder according to their corresponding approval level (e.g. Fine Art, Limited Editions, Member Galleries).
Step 4 You will then need to supply the information requested in the attached spreadsheet for each image you wish to sell. All information is required to properly index your images and maximize your sales potential.
Step 5 A Premium account will be necessary to receive your monthly payments but is not required for submissions. If you do not have a Premium, simply upgrade by clicking “Upgrade” in the upper right of your screen, right next to the LogOut button. Also please note that we will need a completed IRS W-9 (or W-8 if you are not based in the US) faxed to us before receiving your first payment.
Step 6 That’s it! We will review your submitted information to ensure all fields are complete and publish your images within 48 hours. You may make changes to any of your information at any time.

2) How are the photos selected?
Once we receive your application, our panel of Masters, art and photography experts, gallery owners and our staff will review your work and decide if it should be included for sale.

3) How are Net Sales Calculated?
“Net sales” is calculated as gross sale proceeds minus production, shipping and handling costs.

4) Do I need to sign specific paperwork?
Not for simply selling your work; by accepting PurePhoto Terms and Conditions when you created your PurePhoto account, you have been granted the privilege to sell your images on PurePhoto Collections, should they qualify. However if selected for a Limited Edition or Fine Art sale, you will need to work with the PurePhoto staff to coordinate signing the appropriate Certificates of Authenticity.

5) What are Limited Editions?
Limited Editions are delivered with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity that is signed by you and includes the artist’s bio and image description. If your photos are approved by our Panel to be part of the Limited Edition series, then we will contact you with specific details on this process.
