Coffee mug and counter, taken with black and white film, in a olympus half frame camera. The film was processed in a coffee based developer. The coffee pictured here is espresso made with an Saeco Espresso Machine, and I consumed it soon after this photograph was taken. Like most all the photographs I make, this was created using traditional materials.
i have been a freelance photographer since about 1988, shooting everything from weddings to portraits to site architecture / documentation. while i have and use digital cameras, i would rather my initial image be created using traditional materials. i use film and paper and glass and metal as negatives. i coat things myself with emulsion. in addition to silver based images, i also make iron based ones, called cyanotypes.
