Coffeebeans

Film

As you can see, I like coffee! This is a photograph of coffee beans taken with a 5x7 camera on 5x7 tri x film using an ilex seminat portrait lens. The negative was processed in a coffee based developer and contact printed on Azo paper. This is a scan of an original contact print on photo paper, not a film scan.

i have been a freelance photographer since about 1988, shooting everything from weddings to portraits to site architecture / documentation. while i have and use digital cameras, i would rather my initial image be created using traditional materials. i use film and paper and glass and metal as negatives. i coat things myself with emulsion. in addition to silver based images, i also make iron based ones, called cyanotypes.
