Like other photograms, this is made without a camera but with paper and things i might put ontop of it. The paper is exposed and the light traces what was placed on the paper. This photogram is part of a long running series and is made with Kodak AZO silver chloride paper. This image is a direct scan of a photographic print.
i have been a freelance photographer since about 1988, shooting everything from weddings to portraits to site architecture / documentation. while i have and use digital cameras, i would rather my initial image be created using traditional materials. i use film and paper and glass and metal as negatives. i coat things myself with emulsion. in addition to silver based images, i also make iron based ones, called cyanotypes.
