Field in France
This was taken a few years ago during a trip to France. The grass was dancing in the wind, and the trees full of leaves whispered to each other.
This was taken with Kodak flm, in a Graflex 4x5 SLR with vintage french optics. The film was processed in the moonlight using a coffee based developer with french coffee and other ingredients. This is a scan of an original 4x5 contact silver print.
i have been a freelance photographer since about 1988, shooting everything from weddings to portraits to site architecture / documentation. while i have and use digital cameras, i would rather my initial image be created using traditional materials. i use film and paper and glass and metal as negatives. i coat things myself with emulsion. in addition to silver based images, i also make iron based ones, called cyanotypes.
