The Woods

Fire

Hand coated paper negative. Photograph of woods in the afternoon sun taken with a 19th century magazine camera. The sun drenched the trees with golden light.

i have been a freelance photographer since about 1988, shooting everything from weddings to portraits to site architecture / documentation. while i have and use digital cameras, i would rather my initial image be created using traditional materials. i use film and paper and glass and metal as negatives. i coat things myself with emulsion. in addition to silver based images, i also make iron based ones, called cyanotypes.
