At the cove, down the road from where I live. I looked across the Bay, and saw Potowamut (the land of fire). The fires hadn't been there for hundreds of years. The grass made a "shhhhh" sound in the wind.
This was taken with a swedish 8x10" view camera, and vintage french optics. I used Kodak paper for the paper negative.
i have been a freelance photographer since about 1988, shooting everything from weddings to portraits to site architecture / documentation. while i have and use digital cameras, i would rather my initial image be created using traditional materials. i use film and paper and glass and metal as negatives. i coat things myself with emulsion. in addition to silver based images, i also make iron based ones, called cyanotypes.
