multiple imagery, flowers, soft focus
ARTIST'S STATEMENT: My work revolves around the ability of the camera to isolate tiny fragments of time and space in such a way that otherwise fleeting details can be more consciously examined by the observer. I am strongly attuned to elements of color, light and form; rather than attempting to simply document a subject I seek to draw out the texture and mood embodied in those details.
The combined images do not merely compliment one another, but resonate with each other, harmoniously drawing together memory, human experience and the physical world so as to present a unified whole.
Nicole began her career as a photographer after having received her BFA in Film from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and her Masters degree in Ceramics from San Francisco State University. Over that time she has produced a large body of personal work as well as a broad and deep portfolio of commercial projects for clients such as Nokia, Dreamworks SKG, American Girl, Target and Paramount Pictures, among many others.
In recent years Nicole has focused more strongly on visual texture along with the juxtaposition of imagery.
Her work has been exhibited at George Billis Gallery, Los Angeles, CA; The Arts Company, Nashville, TN; Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Los Angeles, CA; The Edge Gallery, Santa Fe, NM; Costello Childs Fine Art, Scottsdale, AZ; Cheryl Pelavin Gallery, NY; Sonoma Valley Museum of Art, Sonoma, CA.
