Tom Fowlks

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Tom left Southern California for a Biology degree from UC Santa Cruz that lead him to work as a field biologist in the Bering Sea for NMFS. However, a fortuitous injury between assignments prompted a profound career pivot, igniting Tom's passion for photography and the boundless adventures it promised. In the years since, Tom's insatiable curiosity has propelled him from the rugged terrain of the Yukon River Delta to the volcanic peaks of Kaua’i, and from the tranquil North Woods of Maine to the untamed rivers of Florida, capturing a diverse array of landscapes and stories along the way. His work has graced the pages of esteemed publications such as Audubon, Vanity Fair, and Travel + Leisure, earning him prestigious accolades from American Photo, Communication Arts, and SPD. Tom's inclusion in PDN’s 30 and his designation as one of Field & Stream Magazine's Contributing Photographers attest to his standing as a visionary in the field. Between assignments, he published his first book "This is Panama" which uncovers the Canal Expansion Project and Canal Operations.
