Bark Study 37
The abstraction of detail from within landscapes has always appealed to me. This series is a study of the form, shape, colour and textures of subjects within the landscape that are often overlooked and passed by as others view the larger vista.
Alan Ranger is a passionate photographer and artisan who has developed his own style over the years through a disciplined & creative approach yet able to convey the ordinary into something extraordinary in his images. Alan doesn’t try to imitate how the world looks, but instead the excitement of the world as we feel it.
This abstraction is clear to see in his landscape images that have an emotional energy about them and show the world as he feels about it.
Alan’s solid and proven technical knowledge together with his own brand of vision and creativity has led to him running photographic workshops, photography courses and one on one private tuition, at all levels.
Alan’s passion is clear to see in his images but simple to understand in his teaching as he inspires each person’s own creativity, challenges the myths and preconceptions about what photography is and simplifies the language and technology used to be effective.
Alan originally directed his creativity through poetry and his love of music of all genres. These days his images are often inspired by his love of certain musical artists, his Artisan approach but also his ability to see beyond the normal view and express the poetry of light & texture through his images and offer a view into his own soul.
