Fence and Houses

Dairy Farms

This was taken in France around the corner from where we were living. As you can see the french countryside is picturesque and lends itself well to black and white photography. This image was made with a Graflex SLR (4x5 ) camera, vintage French Optics, and processed in the moonlight with french coffee and other components found locally. This is a scan of an original 4x5" contact print.

i have been a freelance photographer since about 1988, shooting everything from weddings to portraits to site architecture / documentation. while i have and use digital cameras, i would rather my initial image be created using traditional materials. i use film and paper and glass and metal as negatives. i coat things myself with emulsion. in addition to silver based images, i also make iron based ones, called cyanotypes.
