One of our specialties at PurePhoto is the ability to print large scale fine art prints. When San Francisco-based design duo Emily Ellis and Jemy Massie of Studio Revolution contacted us about creating an oversized custom piece for their client’s Family Room in Bolinas, CA we both decided that a custom wall mural would be perfect!
Step 1: Decide on an image
The client loved “Acapulco Love” by PurePhoto artist Francesca Ritchey. Once we determined that the image file size was large enough to print as a mural we needed to make sure it would fit the space perfectly.
Step 2: Mock-Up
Studio Revolution provided us with a rendering of the mural as it would appear in the Family Room. The designers carefully measured the space and provided exact specifications.
Step 3: Printing
Once the file was prepped, “Acapulco Love” was printed on a PVC-free commercial grade wall covering. This material is durable and can be cleaned easily. However, in some cases a laminate is applied for extra protection.
Step 4: Installation
We always recommend that you speak with your installer, but in most cases these murals can be installed similarly to how you would apply a standard wallpaper. Check it out!
